以「图样描述」作检索，可搜寻出所有包含所输入描述的编码。

举例而言，输入「man」将得出等同所有在图样编码清单内包含 「man」字的码 （例如：「2.7.2」等同于「man and woman (couple)」、「2.7.4」 等同于「man and woman (couple) wearing a folk or historical costume」）。然而，输入「kids」不会检索 到任何结果， 原因是「kids」 并不包括在图样编码清单的描述内。

此外，搜寻「toy」亦不会检索到任何结果，原因是清单内仅包含 「toys」。在这情况下， 可利用简易检索界面内的「部份相符」检索方 法检索「toy」，在进阶检索界面内输入 「toy%」亦可。
